Anyone with iTunes can now browse through a free section of the program’s music store and download recorded lectures by notable and forward-thinking academics. The new iTunes U portal pulls together education-related audio, from recorded lectures to commencement speeches, campus tours, sports games and promotional materials. The one stop shop will centralize academic content that was previously divided among separate accounts for each institution. Schools that make content available through iTunes and Apple’s music store end up with a free offering for alumni and others interested in life-long learning.  Rush PR NewsThe Chronicle of Higher Education (Subscription Required)
