I think that Mr. Gates may be forgeting some of the essential ingredients for a successful university graduate. Although education is at the forefront of any university's offering, the exchanges between students, the networking and development of social skills are close seconds. These skills are vital to taking the knowledge students have learned and applying it in the "real-world". Although I certainly agree that making education accessible to all students should be a priority, the "classroom" as we know it is still and forever will be (in my humble opinion) key in developing the successful citizens of the future!

The technology is available now! What interests could possibly be influential enough to prevent this from happening. Tenure is the fosil fuel of academia. We won't be working from home until all the oil is used up . . . or drains into our water supply.

Kaplan is one of the for-profits, like Navitas, pitching so-called pathway programs in Canada. Kaplan is already facing a False Claims lawsuit in the US for admitting unqualified students, grade inflation, and falsifying documents.
