COU publishes fact sheets on degree ROI, tuition, student aid
Last month the Council of Ontario Universities published a series of fact sheets on the return on investment of a university education, tuition in Ontario, and student financial assistance in the province. The fact sheets note that from 2004 to 2010, jobs grew by 28% for those with a university degree, compared to 17% for those with a college diploma and 4% for those with a high school education. Ontario university graduates earn about 32% more a year compared to those with a college certificate or diploma, and 53% more than those with no PSE. The fact sheets state Ontario students pay less than 50% of the actual cost of their university education, and university students in the province receive more grants and loans than anywhere else in Canada.
