Manitoba lowers interest rate on student loans

The Manitoba government announced Wednesday that changes under the Student Aid Act have reduced the interest rate on provincial student loans from prime plus 1.5% to prime. The government also announced that students can now earn more money during the study period without it affecting their loan eligibility. Previously, students could earn up to $50 a week, and now that amount has been increased to $100 per week. Manitoba News Release
