$29 million for trades facility renewal at Camosun

On Thursday the BC government announced a $29.2-million investment to renew trades facilities at Camosun College's Interurban campus. Existing buildings will be retrofitted and refurbished to modernize and better utilize the space. A new 45,000-square foot facility will be added to accommodate the marine and metal trades, and a new 35,000-square foot building will be added for the mechanical trades. The renewal will accommodate an extra 370 new, FTE students in the trades training program. The project responds to growing demand at Camosun; trades-related training at the institution has increased by nearly 40% in the past decade. BC News Release | Camosun News | Victoria Times-Colonist
