$8 million for research chairs at NS, NL universities

Yesterday the federal government announced $7.9 million to fund 8 research chairs at 4 universities in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador as part of Ottawa's $5.1-billion spending package for science and technology. Dalhousie University will receive $5.2 million for 5 renewed research chairs, while Saint Mary's University will get $1.4 million towards one new chair. Acadia and Memorial Universities will each receive $500,000 for one new chair. Canadian Press
