Alumni associations should tap into alumni talent to serve the broader world: Opinion

November 19, 2021
Alumni associations have a huge pool of talent they can tap into, but this talent is not often leveraged effectively, write Michael Madison and Martin Skladany. Madison and Skladany suggest that alumni associations could organize initiatives that would allow alumni to use their talent to improve society and address the world’s unprecedented challenges. Universities are stable institutions with a history of overseeing ambitious projects and loyal alumni, making them ideally positioned to solve global problems. Madison and Skladany say that success would require both administrator and alumni communities to take initiative and the formation of partnerships with NGOs and other institutions.
