Amid expansion to recreation centre, UWaterloo unveils plans for new field house

October 2, 2017

On top of a $41M expansion to the Student Life Centre and Physical Activities Complex that is already underway, the University of Waterloo says that it will break ground on a new field house by January. The multi-function field-turf building will cost about $15M to build, and will have a September completion deadline. “The reality was nobody would argue that our facilities need lots of work,” said UWaterloo Director of Athletics and Recreation Roly Webster. “The priority of the institution … is to create a vibrant student experience and (the athletics department) needs to play a massive role in that.” Waterloo Chronicle
