Aurora College receives $8M to transition into polytechnic university

July 15, 2021
Aurora College will be receiving $8M over two years from the Government of Canada and the Government of the Northwest Territories to help it transition into a polytechnic university. The funding will support the creation of new opportunities and more access to education in the North, and ensure more equitable educational opportunities for those in NWT’s smaller communities. “Co-investment by the Government of Canada in the planning and development of a Northern polytechnic university is critical to our success,” said Aurora College President Andy Bevan. “We look forward to working with both the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Government of Canada to increase access to quality post-secondary education opportunities for Northerners and to build capacity for Northern research.” CBC | Canada (NWT)
