BC professors say WTU should be terminated

November 4, 2008

The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of BC is urging the provincial government to rescind special legislation passed 3 years ago to give World Trade University degree-granting status. On-going delays of the school's opening and excuses have raised suspicion over the founder's credibility; his claims of international campuses and partnerships with the UN and WTO are unfounded. In February, the school withdrew its degree-granting status application. Although WTU cannot operate as a university, it can still call itself one, and the CUFABC wants that privilege revoked.
