Brock fine and performing arts building attains Gold LEED certification

Brock University has announced that its Marilyn I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts has become Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified. The building, which underwent work to improve its efficiency and sustainability, was rated under the Building Operations and Management category and attained Gold LEED certification. “The majority of the costs and environmental impacts of a building occur during the life cycle of the asset, not during construction,” said Brock Facilities Management Director of Asset Management and Utilities Mary Quintana. “By pursuing LEED O+M, Brock is demonstrating its commitment to long-term thinking as part of its commitment to sustainability and world-class operations.” Brock Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
