Canadian education no longer available without debt

An article in Maclean’s suggests that the tradition of working to put yourself through school is no longer possible given the current price of higher education in Canada.  The average student makes approximately $4,650 a year, not enough to afford an average tuition of $4,970 plus living expenses. Full-time students are borrowing an average of $7,500 each year to fund their education.
