Canadian Schools to Defer Exams for Reservists

Students, who make up 40% of Canada 's reserve forces, will be able to serve in Afghanistan without quitting their studies, after universities across Canada sign a declaration in support of the reserve forces. The Canadian Forces Liaison Council is asking universities, colleges, and school boards to formally sign a statement of support, to defer exams that conflict with the training schedules of student reservists, and re-admit students to their programs if they take a year off to participate in overseas operations.
