Canadore to suspend 11 programs

Canadore College announced Wednesday it will suspend 11 academic programs, which in turn will leave 13 faculty members facing layoffs. Students enrolled in the affected programs will not be impacted as Canadore will phase out the programs as students graduate, but no new students can register for the programs this fall. Because the programs are being suspended, not cancelled, faculty facing layoffs have some choices, says the president of OPSEU Local 657.
