Carleton women's soccer team suspended over "rookie initiation"

September 21, 2009

Carleton University gave its entire women's soccer team a 2-game suspension after a rookie initiation party involving "excessive alcohol" and "embarrassing" drinking games left one intoxicated player taken to a hospital. Carleton's athletics director says the entire team breached the code of conduct set out by the athletics department. The university announced yesterday that the team will continue to play for the rest of the season, and further disciplinary measures will be handled internally.
