CBU launches Business Network for Aboriginal Youth

March 6, 2012

Cape Breton University's Business Network for Aboriginal Youth is a new 2-year pilot program designed to enrich the lives of Aboriginal high school students by helping to facilitate the transition from secondary school to university business education. Using BlackBerry technology, the program will link 30 Aboriginal students in Grades 9 through 12 from across Nova Scotia via social media. Believed to be the first program of its kind in Canada, the program has representation from 12 of Nova Scotia's 13 Aboriginal communities, as well as M├ętis and Inuit participants. The program began with the inaugural Nova Scotia Aboriginal Youth Business Mentorship Conference held earlier this week. CBU News
