Concordia launches CEVAS, plans to conduct Canada’s World Values Survey

October 23, 2020

Concordia University has launched The Centre for Research on Values, Attitudes and Societies (CEVAS). The centre will give researchers access to data from the World Values Survey (WVS). CEVAS’s first project will be to conduct the WVS in Canada, which will allow researchers to compare values, beliefs, and behaviours in different regions, demographics, and backgrounds. It will also allow CEVAS researchers to compare Canadian attitudes with those of other countries. “I want our understanding of the evolution of values and attitudes among our societies to take root in the observation of reliable and pertinent data collected each decade,” said Guy Lachapelle, the centre’s co-director and Concordia Department of Political Science professor.
