Concordia launches crowdfunding platform for campus projects

June 9, 2014

Concordia University is helping its students and faculty “crowdfund” their projects with a new platform called “FundRise.” FundRise will allow donors to read about proposed projects and the teams behind them and choose who will benefit from their gifts. The platform is also expected to help students and professors better promote their projects. “While anyone can give to FundRise projects, the idea is to help Concordians spread the word among their networks,” said Sophie Johnson, a development officer in Advancement and Alumni Relations and FundRise Project Leader. 4 projects are currently available online for review by prospective donors, and the university is accepting applications for more.
