Dal, U of T collaborate to create Black Health Education Collaborative
November 4, 2021
Dalhousie University and University of Toronto researchers have joined together to create the Black Health Education Collaborative (BHEC). BHEC will address anti-Black racism, with a specific focus on falsehoods persisting around Black health that are negatively affecting care received by Black people in Canada. BHEC will provide critical information and develop resources for health professionals and health and medical educators in Canada. “Even though there has been an increase in Black students within medical school, there has been some curricular movement,” said OmiSoore Dryden, James R Johnston Chair in Black Studies at Dal. “[B]ut much more is needed, and this is the gap BHEC plans on addressing.” Dal (1) | Dal (2) (NS | ON)
