Durham breaks ground on women’s softball facility

May 15, 2020

Durham College has begun construction on a women’s softball facility at the school’s Oshawa campus. With plans to complete the facility by August 2020, the building will include a synthetic SPORTURF playing surface on top of a shock pad, allowing the school to host provincial, national, and international games as well as house campus recreational programs for students. “I am so excited to see this facility become a reality,” said Durham athletic director Ken Babcock. “We will have an amazing new home for our highly successful championship women’s softball program and with our colder climate and weather, the artificial turf will allow us to extend the playing season on both ends. This will soon be the best place to play women’s softball in the country.” Durham (ON)
