August 2, 2007

Because of short staffing, the Canadian Border Services Agency will only be able to investigate a small number of the possible “bogus” foreign students and diploma mills in BC.Foreign-student visas in BC have increased from 22,000 in 1995 to 43,000 in 2005.While most foreign students are felt to be legitimate, hundreds of cases of educational fraud have been caught in the province. If discovered, the students are deported. The Chronicle of Higher Education (Subscription Required) | CanWest News
