Keyano receives $10 M grant for theatre expansion

Keyano College has received a $10 M grant from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The money will contribute to the $40 M expansion that Keyano is planning for its theatre, which hosts community events, concerts, and dramatic performances. The expansion will include the construction of an upper deck that will boost the theatre’s seating capacity from 594 to 1,200; it will also add new studio space, an art gallery, and a bar and concession area. “The theatre truly is a hub for the community,” said Councillor Jane Stroud, who moved the motion to approve the grant.
