Lambton opens two new labs at Sarnia campus

Lambton College’s Sarnia campus recently unveiled two new research labs: the Bio Safety Level 2 (BSL-2) lab and the Natural Health Products lab. BSL-2 will enhance Lambton’s ability to explore vaccine development, antibiotics, and pharmaceuticals. The Natural Health Products Lab will allow the college to conduct research in the area of health-centric food products, including ginseng supplements and sugar alternatives. “We need to prepare students and graduates to have the skill sets for [the bio-industry sector], so this helps us to not only engage them as researching students but to have programs, micro-credentials, courses and labs that are going to train the students,” said Lambton VP of Research and Innovation Mehdi Sheikhzadeh.
