Laurentian settles longstanding property encroachment dispute

Laurentian University has reached a settlement with a Sudbury, Ontario couple in a dispute over property encroachment that has been ongoing since 2016. The dispute focused on part of the couple’s backyard that encroached upon Laurentian’s land. On August 15th, Laurentian's board of governors reportedly voted unanimously on a proposed settlement. Laurentian and the couple told CBC that the terms of the settlement are confidential. The couple celebrated the settlement, stating that they “look forward to opportunities to collaborate with the university community on future endeavours.” CBC (ON)
