McMaster to fight antibiotic resistance with new research centre

McMaster University will tackle the global crisis of antibiotic resistance with the support of a $7M donation. The university will use the funds to create the David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery. Gerry Wright, who heads the new Centre, said that governments around the world are trying to figure out how to address the problem of antimicrobial resistance. He added that the Centre will help scientists “really push us forward in this area, so that we could really take full advantage of the expertise that we have and the infrastructure that we have ... to be able to tackle this problem."
