November 28, 2014

The Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR), based at Queen’s University, has received $10 M from Health Canada and the True Patriot Love Foundation. The funding will enhance and mobilize research to better address the health and wellness of members of the Canadian Forces, and will also support direct research into improving the mental health of military personnel. Alice Aiken, Director of CIMVHR, said the funding will allow the organization “to build new partnerships and expand the reach of our information, educate clinicians and policy makers and develop important connections with those who care for those who serve our country.” CIMVHR is partnered with 35 Canadian universities to foster collaboration about the health needs of those in the military between academia, government, industry, and international organizations. Queen’s News
