Mohawk launching tuition-free PSW, Welding programs

Mohawk College has announced that it will be launching two tuition-free programs. The first of these two programs is an accelerated Personal Support Worker (PSW) training program. Students in the six-month program will receive funding for textbooks and other required materials, will take part in a paid work placement for the final three months of the program, and will leave with a full PSW credential. Mohawk is also one of the Ontario colleges offering a free, two-week welding course through Skills2Advance. Students will be paid for their time learning, will receive supports such as gas money and a kit bag, and will receive a welding certificate for completing the course.
