Mount Royal University aviation program has received a $2.4M donation from WWII veteran Ken Lett to fund the creation of scholarships and bursaries for students from underrepresented groups. The scholarships and bursaries will specifically provide support to Indigenous Canadians and women. The funds will additionally support aircraft and simulator maintenance. “As we emerge from the pandemic and the aviation sector takes flight, Mount Royal University aviation students will continue to be in high demand,” said Deanna Wiebe, chair of the aviation department at MRU. “This gift will help us reach even higher and let more students achieve their dreams.” MRU | CTV News (AB)
