NB universities should seek out older students, says UK prof

April 21, 2008

PSE institutions in New Brunswick should go beyond the traditional youth demographic in order to attract students, says Michael Shattock, a British expert on university governance. Shattock argues universities play a crucial role in local and regional economies, and New Brunswick's economy would benefit from more adult students in PSE. He says the University of New Brunswick should work with community colleges in order to attract mature students. New Brunswick has the lowest rate of PSE graduates in the nation.
