February 19, 2010

On Friday, Citizenship and Immigration Canada announced that the Canadian Immigration Integration Project (CIIP), managed by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, will receive an additional $15-million over the next 3 years to expand services in India, China, and the Philippines. A new office will open in London, England, in fall 2011, which will also serve various Nordic and Arab states according to demand. Launched as a pilot program in early 2007, the CIIP is designed to help immigrants under the Federal Skilled Worker Program prepare for integration to Canada's workforce while they are still in their native country completing final immigration requirements. To date, nearly 7,000 people have graduated from the CIIP pilot program overseas. CIC News Release
