September 20, 2012

The Saskatchewan government has authorized the University of Saskatchewan to borrow nearly $95 million this year for capital projects. An order-in-council from last week's provincial cabinet meeting indicates that uSask has been allowed to borrow up to $94.76 million to finance sustaining capital, 3 deferred maintenance projects, and construction of the Health Sciences building. The document also permits the University of Regina to borrow more than $5 million during the financial year that ends March 31 for the purposes of financing some sustaining capital.
