Selkirk College has announced the receipt of over $1.2M in funding to build the Silver King Childcare Centre. Run in partnership with Kootenay Kids Society, the centre will provide 24 childcare spaces that will enable parents attending the college to focus on their schoolwork. $1.2M of the funding for the centre will come from the Childcare BC New Spaces Fund, and $300K will be provided by the Columbia Basin Trust. “Having childcare on campus available to our students will help change lives for both the parents and their little ones,” said Selkirk President Angus Graeme.
