July 15, 2021
Seneca College and Cape Breton University have announced new COVID-19 vaccine requirements. Seneca will require students and staff who are on all campuses to be vaccinated with a Health Canada approved vaccine. Those who opt not to get vaccinated can take courses flexibly or online. “[I]f we’re serious about protecting the health and safety of all of our community then it’s the right thing and the logical thing to do,” said Seneca President David Agnew, who noted he believes Seneca is Canada’s first school to implement mandatory vaccines on campus. CBU has announced that students living in residence will be required to have received their first dose 14 days prior to moving into residence and to commit to receiving their second dose as soon as possible.
