Some Ontario universities feel shortchanged in grad space funding announcement

March 3, 2009

While most Ontario universities welcome the provincial government's recent announcement of $52 million in funding for 3,300 more graduate spaces, others, like the Ontario College of Art + Design and the University of Windsor, are "disappointed" that the lion's share of the funding is going towards the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, which are already large research-oriented institutions. uWindsor, which received funding for 4 graduate spaces, will "follow-up" with the province to ensure the school gets "its fair share" of the government funding.
