TRU announces new four-storey modular student housing building

Thompson Rivers University will be increasing its student housing with a new four-storey modular building at East Village. The building will provide space for 148 students with 80 single- and double-occupancy rooms. It will be constructed using a modular approach that offers cost and time savings, and is set to be complete by summer 2023. All rooms in the new building will have a kitchenette and bathroom, and students will have access to parking spaces, enclosed bike spaces, and electric vehicle chargers. “Our new permanent modular building helps meet growing demand, provides a much-needed home away from home and enhances the student experience,” said TRU AVP Campus Infrastructure, Sustainability and Ancillary Services Warren Asuchak. The housing project is funded by $10.85M from the Government of British Columbia. TRU (1)| TRU (2)| BC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
