Thompson Rivers University and Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) have renewed an agreement to increase access to education for TteS students. The two partners have agreed on nine commitments, which include event representation, programs relevant to TteS people, and a representative on the university senate subcommittee. TRU has also promised to align its programs and priorities with TRC Calls for Action and will work with TteS if archaeological sites or cultural items are found on university grounds. “This renewed agreement is not just about public declarations, but also meaningful action to see the success of TteS students,” said TRU President Brett Fairbairn. “We know this is another step in our reconciliation journey with TteS and we look forward to implementing this agreement in the coming years.” TRU | Kamloops This Week (BC)
