UAlberta Native Studies introduces two new courses

January 15, 2021
The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Native Studies has introduced two courses: Countering Stereotypes of Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Peoples and Technoscience. Both courses are fully online and asynchronous, have no prerequisites, and are available to students from all faculties. Countering Stereotypes of Indigenous Peoples will focus on examining stereotypes, bias, and assumptions about Indigenous people in Canada, with the aim of giving students the tools for responding to racism. Indigenous Peoples and Technoscience will examine Indigenous scientific research and collaborations with non-Indigenous projects, while introducing students to Indigenous perspectives on studying science.
