University of Guelph Professor Beth Parker discusses how she responded to questions and concerns that arose after Nestlé Waters Canada donated $460K to support her groundwater research in Wellington County. “There's nothing wrong with the questions and I actually welcome those questions in some ways, as long as the context is understood," said Parker, who explained that Nestlé has provided the funding, but will not have influence over the research. “Nestlé will see it, they'll perhaps even provide feedback or input to it, but not exclusively, and certainly not controlling it, because that's not favourable to our outcome, which is to do work that advances the state of the science,” added Parker.
