October 14, 2021
The Université du Québec à Montréal’s Centre des livres rares et collections spéciales du Service des bibliothèques has announced that it has received a collection of almost 700 rare books from the Franciscan community. The books, which were published between the 15th and 18th centuries, include manuscripts and texts in Latin, Italian, French, and Spanish. UQAM will conserve the texts, ensuring that Quebec’s religious documentary heritage is safeguarded. The donation will be used to enrich UQAM’s courses, contribute to future advanced seminars and internships, and provide research opportunities for students and researchers from around the globe.
