URegina opens renovated engineering lab space

The University of Regina has opened the new Mitchel Workshops labs space on the main floor of its education building. The space was renovated and enhanced with a $1M donation from anonymous donors, and now features a workshop with advanced hand tools, a 3D printing lab, an electronics and instrumentation lab, and a machine shop. The space will be used primarily by engineering students, graduate students, and faculty, while the 3D printing lab will be open to the larger campus community. “Having these tools, equipment and spaces available for students aligns with and reinforces the U of R’s Strategic Plan” said URegina President Dr Jeff Keshen.
