uSask School of Public Health gains international accreditation

January 20, 2014

The School of Public Health (SPH) at the University of Saskatchewan has received accreditation from the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation. The accreditation is for the Master of Public Health program for a 5-year term, and is the only non-European program to be accredited by this agency, as well as being only one of 2 accredited programs in Canada, according to uSask. “Accreditation for our program means we have met an international standard of excellence and competencies in the 5 arenas of public health: epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health policy and health management,” said SPH Director, Robert Buckingham. The accreditation will allow the school to recruit more students and faculty, as well as increase research capabilities in the future. uSask News
