uSask seeks an extra $60-million from province for operating costs

According to its operations forecast submitted to the Saskatchewan government, the University of Saskatchewan estimates it needs an additional $60-million in provincial funding to cover its projected $463.3-million operating budget in 2012-13. The request includes a $16.5-million increase to the annual operating grant from the government, $24.6 million in one-time funding for new initiatives, a $10-million increase in the capital grant to be used to develop a plan to tackle deferred maintenance, and $9 million to support student accessibility.
