March 30, 2009

Last week, the University of Waterloo's senate endorsed a new School of Environment, Enterprise and Development. SEED would provide a home for the environment faculty's biggest undergraduate program, environment and business, as well as new undergraduate and graduate programs. It would also feature an Environmental Training Institute to operate non-degree programs. According to background papers, SEED will be "the first of its kind in North America, and arguably the most comprehensive institutions of this type in the world." uWaterloo's board of governors is expected to approve the school next week. uWaterloo Daily Bulletin
