July 8, 2021
The University of Waterloo will be receiving $8.2M from the Government of Canada to establish a 3D printing industry alliance called the Additive Manufacturing Alliance and to build on its Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) Lab. The MSAM Lab will provide a cutting-edge research facility and expertise, while the Additive Manufacturing Alliance will accelerate business growth through the use of advanced manufacturing technologies and by creating jobs. “This FedDev investment will help to engage and train a substantial number of companies in environmentally sustainable manufacturing opportunities offered by additive manufacturing to solidify Ontario’s additive manufacturing green supply chain and industry ecosystem,” said Ehsan Toyserkani Canada Research Chair in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at UWaterloo.
