Western creates Office of Military Academic Medicine to strengthen research, partnerships

December 4, 2019

Western University has created a new office that will connect the institution’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and the Canadian Armed Forces to help train military doctors and strengthen existing research and partnerships. The Office of Military Academic Medicine brings together the administration of current military physician education, as well as research and partnership activities, into one office, allowing Schulich to identify new opportunities to collaborate and expand current activities. “The office will facilitate interactions between the school and the Canadian Forces,” said Western Schulich Professor Vivian McAlister. “We will grow the relationship, which is already more than 100 years old, so that Western becomes a world leader in military medicine and humanitarian care.” Western (ON)
