April 15, 2008

Pursuing the medical school plans announced last July, York University has hired a "veteran leader" in health-care education to head up the project.  Peter Walker, former dean of medicine at uOttawa, has been named special advisor to York's president, and will lead the $150-million proposal.  Dr. Walker hopes the school will open with a class of 100 students in 2012.  He envisions the school as a chance to build from the ground up and develop a new model for medical education.  The Globe & Mail
