Back-to-work legislation to end York strike at last

On Saturday, Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty held a press conference to announce that he would recall legislature on Sunday to legislate binding arbitration for the strike that has shut down York University for 11 weeks. CUPE and Ontario's NDP party blame underfunding for the "deadlock," while the student government and university administration welcome the province's decision. With NDP opposition, the legislation may take until Wednesday to pass. CUPE says the intervention sets "an incredibly dangerous precedent." Globe and Mail
