Dal, Tesla sign 5-year research agreement

Dalhousie University and Tesla have agreed to a five-year research partnership, reportedly the first such agreement between the company and a Canadian university. Tesla will work with Dal’s Jeff Dahn, who has conducted pioneering research on lithium-ion batteries. “Our research group’s goal, said Dahn, is to increase the energy density and lifetime of Li-ion batteries, so we can drive down costs in automotive and grid energy storage applications ... We’re incredibly excited to partner with Tesla, a company that’s so well-aligned with our research.” The partnership will officially begin in June 2016. Dal News Release
