UBCO acquires land in downtown Kelowna from SD 23 to support new campus

The University of British Columbia Okanagan has acquired a piece of land in downtown Kelowna from School District 23 that is located adjacent to the UBCO Downtown project. There are reportedly no immediate plans for the parcel, but the purchase is viewed as a long-term investment that will allow the university to be responsive to the new downtown campus’ needs. “This land acquisition offers UBC the opportunity to remain responsive in the years ahead to the evolving needs of the community regarding academic programming and services in downtown Kelowna,” said UBCO Principal Lesley Cormack.
